Avengers: Endgame box office collection day 3 India: Marvel’s superhero film earns a HUMONGOUS amount over the first weekend

Avengers: Endgame was one of the most highly anticipated movies of the decade and it took a fantastic start in India, when it released on April 26. With an unprecedented buzz and sales of tickets, we always knew it would be a record breaker. However, we never expected it to go on such a massive record breaking run in India! The movie opened to a massive collection of Rs 53.10 crore at the box office. Thereby, becoming the third highest opener ever, after Baahubali 2 (Rs 121 crore) and 2.0 (Rs 61 crore). Avengers: Endgame then raked in another Rs 51.40 crore and Rs 52.70 crore on day 2 (Saturday) and day 3 (Sunday) respectively. And by that, the Marvel superhero film took its overall tally to a humongous total of  Rs 157.20 crore at the India box office.

Considering that the movie was released in just 2800 plus screens, this total is unprecedented. Though it is only the fourth highest all time opening weekend grosser (after Baahubali 2, 2.0 and Sultan), this is a huge achievement. Avengers: Endgame is now also the highest opening weekend grosser for a Hollywood release in India. It has even become the highest opening weekend grosser of 2019.
