Gully Boy box office collection prediction: Ranveer Singh – Alia Bhatt’s film to earn Rs 20 crore on day 1

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy is one of the most-exciting films of the year and we can’t wait to see it! Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film revolves around an underdog guy, who stays in a slum. His rags-to-riches journey, his coming-of-age story and the way he follows his heart even though his parents disapprove of his passion for rapping, will surely inspire you. It is a mass-y movie, that will definitely leave an impact. With a huge buzz and some great reviews coming in from the Berlin Film Festival, we expect Gully Boy to have a fantastic start at the box office! And our trade expert agrees too!

While predicting the box office collections for Gully Boy, Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) says, “The buzz is huge. Everyone is excited to watch the movie and I am sure it will open very well. I expect it to earn Rs 20 crore on day 1, especially with it releasing on Valentine’s Day. Considering that it is releasing on Thursday, Gully Boy will have a 4-day weekend. So it should rake in around Rs 75 crore in its first weekend. But again, everything depends on the merit of its content. And I feel it will be good.”

Set to release on February 14, Gully Boy stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, amongst others. Apart from Valentine’s Day, Akshaye mentions that Simmba’s success will also help Gully Boy. “With Simmba, Ranveer Singh entertained one and all. This enabled Ranveer to be a name that masses and the audience in Tier II and III are excited about now.” If you remember, Simmba was tracking at Rs 17 – 20 crore before its release.
