Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria’s Student of the Year 2 was one of the most exciting releases this month. However, looks like the movie has not fared as expected. And even though it had a decent run at the box office over the first weekend, raking in Rs 38.83 crore, it saw a massive decline on day 4. In fact, on the first Monday, SOTY 2 collected Rs 5.52 crore at the box office. With that the movie has Rs 44.35 crore in its kitty.
The first Monday is always the litmus test for a movie. And with more than 50 per cent drop, Student of the Year 2 has failed to pass the Monday test. We just hope now it sustains well throughout the first week, so that it can salvage itself at the box office. With De De Pyaar De and John Wick: Chapter 3 releasing this Friday (May 17), we are sure SOTY 2 will struggle during the second weekend. Looking at the current trends, the movie will rake in Rs 60-70 crore in its lifetime run. What do you guys have to say about this development? Directed by Punit D Malhotra, Student of the Year 2 marked Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday’s debut. Though their performances were praised, the film failed to impress the audience. And that has resulted in the film falling flat at the box office. With the film continuing its run, stay tuned to CineBlitz for more news and updates about Student of the Year 2 right here.
