Total Dhamaal box office report: Ajay Devgn’s movie takes a decent start; registers 40 per cent occupancy

Indra Kumar’s Total Dhamaal is out and looks like the film has started off well. Starring Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Anil Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra, the franchise film is being loved by one and all. Being a massy film, the movie is doing very well in the tier II and III cities. Single screen occupancies are better than multiplexes, but what is the current occupancy? Well, trade sources reveal that Total Dhamaal opened with an average occupancy of 30 per cent across India. It has grown to 40 per cent by the afternoon shows. And it will continue its upward trend till the evening and late night shows.

Talking about the start, our trade expert – Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) revealed to us exclusively, “Total Dhamaal is doing well. Especially at the mass centres, single screens and multiplexes in the Tier II and III towns, its opened very well. The average occupancy across India is 40 per cent. In fact, it is more than 55 per cent in the tier II, tier III cities and single screens. By the late night shows this will be even more.” With Total Dhamaal playing in 3400 plus screens, this is a really good start for it at the box office.

Movie-goers have also loved the movie! They’ve been raving about it on social media, calling it a hilarious family entertainer. With such good response as well as great footfalls and occupancies, we are sure Total Dhamaal will rake in the moolah.
