Based on the best-selling novel series After by Anna Todd, the Jenny Gage directed After will be hitting the big screens tomorrow (May 3). Debutante Josephine Langford and young actor Hero Fiennes-Tiffin will be seen taking on the iconic lead roles of Tessa Young and Hardin Scott respectively in this incredible love story.
But fans online were equally thrilled when they found out that internet celebrity and former Vine-star, Inanna Sarkis would be joining the film. Talking about Inanna’s casting as resident mean-girl Molly, Anna who is also the producer on the film, shared, “The moment Inanna turns on Molly, it’s so incredible. She’s the most perfect Molly, not because she’s mean or super bitchy – because in real life she’s a goofy, fun, sweet girl – but there’s something about her that makes her the perfect mean girl in the movie.” The Instagram and YouTube influencer (known for her comedy skits and videos) meanwhile confessed to being super excited as part of the film. “I’m super-excited that I ended up playing Molly because she’s so me and I’m loving the pink hair extensions. I also love Molly because she’s a villain, and she really goes after what she wants. She has an interesting dynamic with Hardin; she has had a thing with him and she is super protective over him.”
Singing sensation Pia Mia too will be seen playing an interesting character, Tristan, in the film. Talking about her character, Mia shares, “Tristan is the moral compass, the glue, and the level-headed one in the group. She doesn’t really go for the crazy drama and she’s more low-key and yet loving. I think we can all relate to her because there’s a Tristan in every friend circle. She’s the most chilled, the blender of the group; she keeps everyone together.”
Anna Todd adds that her casting was unique to the others, saying, “Pia Mia is a cool person. When we were going through casting, she was the one that I had even heard of honestly.”
