Akanksha Puri talks about her upcoming short film Thanks Mom

Actor Akanksha Puri is one of the prominent names of the entertainment industry. Known for her remarkable roles in Hindi TV shows, she has also been part of South Indian cinema. She made her Bollywood debut with Madhur Bhandarkar’s 2015 drama film Calendar Girls and is best known for her role as Goddess Parvati in Vighnaharta Ganesha. From films to music videos, she has always left an impression on the audience.
The diva will be soon seen in a short film ‘Thanks Mom’ opposite Sharad Malhotra. Speaking about the short film “Thanks Mom” and made her say yes to the project, and how did it resonate with her as an actor Akanksha shared, “Palash Dutta who is a producer and dear friend to me, he got me on board. When he narrated me this beautiful story and my character Aarushi I immediately said yes. Thanks mom is about relationships and complexity of relationships . I am playing “ Aarushi” a sweet independent girl next door , who is everybody’s favourite . It was a character very easy for me to play as Aarushi is exactly like Akanksha, so I just portrayed myself, it came naturally to me”.
She further revealed her experience with Sharad Malhotra. Akanksha shared, “I know Sharad very well, he is a friend, but we never shared screen space before “Thanks Mom”. I was very comfortable to work with him and we you have a experience actor with your things become very easy, and we kept pulling each other leg and that only happens when friends work together”.
Directed by Manik Talwar the movie is slated to release soon.
