Vaani Kapoor learns kathak for ranbir Kapoor Shamshera

Befikre girl Vaani Kapoor is an amazing dancer and the actress has shown her skills more than once. Adding another dance form to her credit, Vaani will be learning Kathak for a very intricate dance routine being set for her in her next film Shamshera opposite Ranbir Kapoor. It was Alia Bhatt who recently impressed us with her Kathak and now Vaani will be an add-on to the list.

Known for her amazing skills for freestyle and hip-hop in Nashe Si Chad Gayi from Befikre and the album Main Yaar Manana Ni, Vaani is all set to star in a Kathak number in her next film Shamshera. She is set to challenge her dancing skills and push her limits as an artist. She needs to be extremely proficient in several classical dancing styles to be able to pull off the intricate choreography that is being set for her. Vaani has been honing her dancing skills by learning Kathak for a few months now and she has been putting in hours daily to perfect her dancing and body postures. When asked about the same, she said, “Since Shamshera is set in a particular time, the dance sequences require me to have a very Indian, very classical body language, which is why I started taking Kathak classes to learn the nuances and the grace. Karan (Malhotra) specifically wanted me to adapt to a more traditional Indian dance form and break from the western style to do justice to the choreography that is being set for me.” Her character in the film is that of the most-desirable and sought-after travelling performer from India.

Shamshera is a YRF production film directed by Karan Malhotra and stars Vaani, Ranbir and Sanjay Dutt in major roles. The film is a period drama and promises action. Ranbir will be seen in a never before look as the animated teaser that dropped long time back suggested. Whereas, Sanjay Dutt will be playing the merciless nemesis of Ranbir in the project. Talking about Vaani, she will also be seen in a film with Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan in which she is paired opposite Hrithik and the actress has wrapped her schedule for it.
