Hasti DoshiKaran Johar is celebrating his 46th birthday away from India in New York today (May 25). The multi-talented moviemaker has entertained audiences with his films throughout the years. Other than producing some hit films under the Dharam Productions banner KJO carved a niche for himself. But he also explored acting opportunities, though he failed, he did let the passion in him die. The great director and producer initially wanted to be an actor. And he tried his luck a lot of time by starring in his first film Indradhanush (1989) and some other film later, like Alag (2006), Welcome to New York and many more.
This actor/director/producer/host has always loved acting in his films or at least making an appearance which somewhere satisfied the actor in him. A very prominent film where you will remember him is Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) where he played Shah Rukh Khan’s friend and was quite prominent. Though Bombay Velvet turned out to be a failed attempt KJo took the failure in his stride, he stopped acting but not dreaming.
Karan himself has time and again accepted that he is not a good actor and he should stay away from films as an actor to make them work well for the audiences, isn’t he a sport? Few other films he has had special appearances are Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006).
While Karan Johar continues making appearances in films, recently he was also seen in Aankh Mare song from Simmba. We wish him a wonderful day and a very Happy Birthday.
