Television actor Karan Mehra was arrested by the Goregaon police after his wife Nisha Rawal filed an assault charge against the actor. The actor was granted bail later has reportedly said that injuries suffered by Nisha were self-inflicted and he is not responsible for it. On Monday night, following a fight, Nisha alleged that Karan pushed her and she hurt her head following which she approached the police.
An FIR was registered under section 336 (rash or negligent act to endanger human life or personal safety) and 337 (causing hurt by rash or negligent act) of IPC. Karan and Nisha are planning to separate but Nisha has demanded a huge alimony which has upset the actor who has said he cannot afford to pay that amount. The couple who have been married for eight years have a 4 year old son and Nisha has demanded the money for her son. Karan Mehra shot to fame with the role of Naitik in the show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and now has been acting in Punjabi films. Nisha is also an actor.
