Exclusive! Dangal girls Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh to reunite for Anurag Basu’s next and we have all the deets

The Dangal girls are going to get back together on the big screen. Sanya Malhotra has now been roped in by Anurag Basu for his film that also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh. Fatima is already shooting with Rajkummar Rao in Bhopal for the same film and the duo are said to be on a 15-day schedule there. Now with Sanya on board, the two will be seen together after Dangal. The duo were also seen in a chocolate TV commercial together, trying to recreate the chemistry they shared in Dangal. But it would be interesting to see if and how they share the screen space in Basu’s film. The film is said to be on the lines of Life in a… Metro and most likely to be titled Crime in a Metro. The other cast of the film includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Bachchan.

While Fatima is paired opposite Rajkummar, it is unsure who Sanya will be paired with. With the ensemble casting the film is already generating much interest in the industry. The film had recently kickstarted in Bhopal with Rajkummar and Fatima posing with their backs turned towards the camera so as not to reveal their look in the film.

Sanya Malhotra’s last film Badhai Ho was a superhit at the box office and though her Pataakha did not do well at the box office the actress was appreciated for her performance. Before Sanya joins the team, she is likely to travel for Sundance Film Festival where her Nawazuddin Siddiqui film Photograph directed by Ritesh Batra is to going to be premiered.
