Exclusive! Mahesh Anand died due to cardiac arrest, suggests preliminary post-mortem report

Police are most likely to rule out any foul play involved in the death of veteran actor Mahesh Anand, after preliminary post-mortem reports suggest that the actor died due to a cardiac arrest. Further investigations are still underway. The veteran actor – known for his roles as a leading henchman in Bollywood – was found dead alone at his Yari Road apartment on February 9. His dead body was discovered when the actor’s domestic help called his sister after Mahesh didn’t respond to the doorbell for two days in a row. His sister arrived with cops and when they broke into the flat, they found her brother dead. He was found lying on a table with a glass-filled with alcohol beside him. His body was taken to the Cooper Hospital for post-mortem.

he 57-year-old actor was staying alone in his flat. There was no suicide note left which raised many questions. But the preliminary post-mortem report has put to rest many doubts, as Mahesh’s death has been declared due to natural causes – with the reason being cardiac arrest. In an exclusive chat with Cine Blitz, Shakti Kapoor said that the actor was depressed which led to him getting addicted to alcohol.

A case of accidental death was registered then and the alcohol glass and bottle did suggest that he was drinking the night he passed away. Mahesh Anand – a well-known face from the mainstream cinema in 1990’s – he was known for his roles as the henchman of several villains in the 90s’films. He worked in films like Shahenshah, Vishwatma, Vijeta, Khuddar, Majboor, Thanedaar and Kurukshetra. We hope Mahesh Anand’s soul rests in peace and we extend condolences to his family.
