CM Devendra Fadnavis announces a new platform to grant permission for outdoor shoots

Following the attack on the cast and crew of web series Fixerr, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis made some important announcements in the Legislative council today (June 20). It was announced that Maharashtra will have a single window for production houses of films and serials to take permission for outdoor shoots and cut down the coordinators. Fadnavis also addressed the council regarding what steps the cops will be taking and also explained how the single window will work.

The cast and crew of the ALTBalaji web show Fixerr were attacked yesterday (June 19) when they were shooting in the outskirts of the city. Following this a privilege motion was moved by Kiran Pawaskar (NCP). The CM announced that the state government will launch a digital platform for movie and TV serial production houses where all necessary permissions will be allotted for outdoor shoots. The platform will be functional from August 15, 2019. Talking about the recent attack he also cleared that five out of eight attackers are in custody and the rest will be caught soon. “I have also asked investigating officials to find out the background of the accused persons. If they have criminal background, sections of the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) can be invoked against them,” said Fadnavis.

He also mentioned that if the police officers are found showing leniency towards the investigations, they too will have to face consequneces. For more updates and gossip stay tuned to CineBlitz.
