Here’s how much Kapil Dev-led 1983 Indian Cricket World Cup team was paid!

The shoot of Ranveer Singh-starrer ’83 is on in full swing currently. The team ’83 had been prepping for the film for quite some time now, and a lot of research too has gone in during the pre-production stages. Today (July 17) a senior journalist S Ramachandran shared an interesting piece of information on Twitter and it might shock you. The veteran shared a picture of a document that shows how much the cricketers were paid for playing in the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

According to the picture shared, each player including Captain Kapil Dev who played at the World Cup was paid Rs 2,100, which included Rs 1,500 as match fees and Rs 600 as allowances. You read that right! ’83 star Ranveer Singh was also tagged in the tweet that was captioned: “It’s saara pagaar? @RanveerOfficial.” Check it right below.
