“Kazi’s magic lies in its uplifting message of gender equality”, says actor Den Sherpa

After featuring in the National Award-winning film Knock Knock Knock, actor Den Sherpa who hails from Darjeeling is now set to feature in a psychological thriller Hindi feature film Kazi which is set to release on 18th December on OTT platform Open Theatre. Helmed by Indian Air Force Officer turned filmmaker Sheba Ghosh, it stars Shishir Sharma, Sunil Thapa, Heeba Shah, Biswas Timshina, Sheba Ghosh among others.

Talking about his role Vijay said, “Vijay’s spirit resonated with me, born from the same Darjeeling soil. His frustration, fury, and alienation were mine to understand, etched into my soul by injustice and self-doubt. Stepping into Vijay was a thrilling dance, a waltz with Love and Hate, teetering on the precipice of right and wrong. Director Sheba entrusted me with this exquisite tapestry, and I poured my heart into giving Vijay the justice he deserved.”

He added, “Vijay wasn’t just a role, he was a revelation. A once-in-a-lifetime chance to embody not just a character, but an emotion, a prayer, a son’s love. Research fueled my portrayal, but it transcended mere acting.”
