Ashutosh Gowarikar ropes in Sahil Salathia for Panipat

After Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon, Ashutosh Gowarikar has now signed supermodel-turned-actor Sahil Salathia for his upcoming directorial venture Panipat. Though Sahil hasn’t graced the big screen so far, he made his acting debut with Gowarikar’stelevision series Everest back in 2014. In Panipat, the good looking lad will be essaying the role of Shamsher Bahadur. For those unaware, he was the son of Maratha warrior Bajirao I and his second wife Mastani. In the third battle of Panipat, Shamsher played an important role as he fought against the Afghans.

Talking about the latest development in the cast, producer Sunita Gowarikar said, “Sahil had left an impression on us ever since he did Everest. We had been wanting to work with him again and this role was a perfect fit for him.” She further added that Sahil will do complete justice to the character as he is a very talented actor. Well, in that case we can’t wait to see him as Shamsher Bahadur on 70mm. The period drama, which went on floors in November last year, is based on the famous Battle of Panipat which took place in the 18thcentury.

While Ashutosh Gowariker’s last film Mohenjo Daro starring HrithikRoshan in the lead failed to get cash registers ringing, everyone is hoping he makes a solid comeback at the box office with Panipat this year. As for Arjun, the talented actor has few more films lined up for release in 2019. He will be seen in Satinder Dahiya’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar alongside Parineeti Chopra and with Amrita Puri in Prabhat Kapoor’s detective thriller India’s Most Wanted.
