Kangana Ranaut’s much-awaited film Panga has finally got a release date. The film, which is helmed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, will hit the screens next year on January 24. Co-starring Punjabi singer-actor Jassie Gill, Richa Chadha and Neena Gupta, the story of the film is about a new-age family that believes in breaking stereotypes by dreaming for the stars. Announcing the release date, Ashwiny posted a still from the movie on her Instagram account and wrote, “When notes of a story start coming together and translates into a human expression. Panga releases on 24.01.2020.” Looking at the picture, it seems there is something really special in store for all of us.
Kangana, who is currently riding high on the success of her last film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, can be seen having a hearty laugh in the picture whereas her co-star Jassie Gill is standing right next to her. This still from the Panga looks very interesting and has certainly raised our anticipation further. The National award-winning actress is playing the role of a Kabbadi player and it’s the first time she’s playing such a character onscreen. As for Jassie Gill, he plays Kangana’s husband in the film. The Punjabi actor was last seen in Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi alongside Sonakshi Sinha and Jimmy Shergill.

Coming back to Ashwiny, she is known for giving her actresses strong roles. And therefore we are really excited to see Kangana in her film. Two talented artists coming together only suggests we’ll witness some kind of magic on 70mm. Her last directorial venture Bareilly Ki Barfi starring Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao was a big hit at the box office. In fact, Ashwiny’s first film Nil Battey Sannata had also impressed the audience and critics alike. So we pretty sure Panga won’t disappoint us either.
