South actress Sajitha Madathil exposes Tamil film director Karthik for his inappropriate behaviour.

As the #MeToo movement continues with many important and powerful figures in Hollywood, Bollywood and the South-Indian film industries being called out for their inappropriate behaviour, one more case can be added to the list, which truly brings no pleasure in saying. Famed and acclaimed Malayali theatre and film actress Sajitha Madathil took to Facebook to express her disgust with the fact that Tamil film director Karthik asked her to “compromise” during a discussion for a project of his that she was set to be a part of. In an interview with IANS, she spoke about the incident saying, “The call came on Monday asking me details about my films and after a while came the unexpected statement – ‘are you ready for compromises and adjustments?’. This was a shock to me.” 

She received widespread support from the media, her colleagues and fans and soon caught the wind that Karthik, whose number had been leaked by Sajitha in her post, wanted to make an apology. Talking about the same, she said, “Later, through someone known to me, he said that he is prepared to apologise, and also said I was mistaken. I made my stand clear and said I wish to know the reason why he is apologising to which I got no response.” Her next move with regards to taking forward the allegation remains unknown but in the meantime, we commend Sajitha on her bravery and her contribution to the universal and influential movement.
