The Office: Ranvir Shorey opens up about his role in the web-show

OTT platform Hotstar forayed into the world of comedy with The Office. The web-show is an official adaptation of the international series, The Office and is a 13-episode mockumentary where typical office characters find themselves in atypical situations. Now, the latest buzz is that Ranvir Shorey will be starring the mockumentary as Prem Chopra an over-the-top Field Sales Rep and best friend to protagonist Jagdeep Chadda (Mukul Chadda). The character is known to over-share information that no one wants to hear.

In a statement to the press, Ranvir spoke about his character saying, “The Office has very relatable characters all based in a relatable environment. People might have strong views about Prem Chopra, but playing the character was therapy for me. I would go on the set and just let all the worst in me out.”

Directed by Rohan Sippy, the cast includes Mukul Chadda, Gauahar Khan, Ranvir Shorey, Gopal Datt, Sayandeep Sengupta, Samridhi Dewan, Priyanka Setia, Abhinav Sharma, Gavin Methalaka, Preeti Kochar, Sunil Jetly, Chien Ho Liao, Nehpal Gautam and Mayur Bansiwal. The show started streaming on Hotstar Premium from June 28.
