The beautiful Madhoo (now going by the screen name of Madhoobala in the South) of the wistful nostalgic Roja memories, is setting screens in the South on fire with her histrionics, after a long hiatus from the big screen. Her Tamil film Agni vs Devi, a political drama has the delicate featured actress playing the main antagonist. That will be something to watch out for! Check the look in the poster of the film. Agni vs Devi, based on author Rajesh Kumar’s novel, and directed by JPR Sham Surya also stars Bobby Simha, Nambessan Ramya, and Satish. The film will be releasing on March 22.

The first teaser of Madhoo’s Kannada film, Premier Padmini, a romantic comedy entertainer, based on relationships, directed by Ramesh Indira and produced by Shruti Naidu, will also be out on March 17. The film features Madhoo and Kannada superstar Jaggesh (fondly called Navarasa Nayaka). The film is up for release in April. Madhoo seems to be on a roll. She has two more movies that she is currently working on – a Telugu film calledKitty Party, and a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu, co-starring Prabhu and Srikant.

In the long gap that Madhoo was away, she was playing doting mother to her two lovely daughters Ameyaa and Keia. In the last couple of years, she started resuming work to a greater extent. She acted in Sab Theek Hai – a short film for the web, directed by Raja Mukherjee, in 2018. She also starred in Aarambh, a teleseries for Star Plus, directed by Goldie Behl. The magnum opus was a mythological drama, showing the clash of the two races of the Aryans and Dravidians, fought at the beginning of human civilisation. The show was presented magnificently and had world class VFX. In the series, Madhoo, who played a dual role of good queen and bad queen, looked nothing short of a Goddess. The show saw its run between 2017-18. Madhoo’s last Bollywood outings were the Hema Malini-directed Tell Me O Khuda, and the Rajshri production Love U Mr Kalakar.
