Mother Teresa’s biopic to release in 2020

Biopics have been a favourite genre in Bollywood for a long time now. Be it Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom or last year’s release Sanju, such films have always received a good response from the audience. After many motion pictures based on the lives of sportspersons and celebrities, a film is now finally being made on the life of the international humanitarian, Mother Teresa. The film, written and directed by Seema Upadhyay, will be produced by Pradeep Sharma, Nitin Manmohan, Girish Johar and Prachi Manmohan.

According to reports, the makers of the film have already met the Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity, Sister Prema Mary Pierick and Sister Lynne in Kolkata to garner their blessings for the project. The biopic will revolve around the life of the iconic nun who came from Albania to India in 1929 and set up the Missionaries of Charity in 1948. We also hear that the script has already been locked and the producers are looking to release the film in 2020.

The film is said to have both Hollywood and Bollywood actors, but the names of the cast are yet to be announced. Apart from that, the technicians and teams are in the process of being finalised. Previously, many films have been made around the life of Mother Teresa internationally. The last film was a 2014 release titled The Letter.
