Dadasaheb Phalke Residential Scheme's First Glimpse in Shelu

The Dadasaheb Phalke Housing Scheme is being given shape in Shelu of Vangani, the city of Maharashtra where outdoor shooting started with Raja Harishchandra, the first film of Indian cinema. Now the Dadasaheb Phalke Housing Scheme is being given shape in Shelu of Vangani in the same city. With the help of Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and Ankur Padhye of Padhye Group, 10,080 houses are being built here for cinema workers under the Pradhan Mantri Awasiya Yojana, in which 522 houses are being built in the first phase. This tower is 16 storeys. It will have lift, multi-purpose hall and many other facilities.

The special feature of this housing scheme will be that the main gate will be named after Saraswati Bai Phalke, wife of Dadasaheb Phalke. Thousands of cinema workers from Mumbai reached Shelu to see the first glimpse of these RERA registered houses. Local MLA Mahendra G. Thorve present on the occasion said that people associated with cinema have shown interest in us. Even today a large number of shoots take place at ND Studio in Karjat. It is now the responsibility of the government and me to make proper arrangements for electricity and water here so that more and more people’s inclination towards Shelu increases.

Speaking on the occasion, BN Tiwari, President, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) said that the dream of the behind-the-scenes artistes is coming true in this housing scheme. On this occasion, building builder Ankur Padhye said that it was my father’s dream to provide houses for cinema workers, in which the efforts of FWICE, Amarjit Singh, former labor commissioner Sawant Saheb were also very important. BN Tiwari, President of FWICE has a remarkable contribution in this. Ankur Padhye said that earlier his father had provided houses for beedi workers in Solapur for just Rs 60,000.

Actor Gajendra Chauhan, Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson Chandrakant Pusalkar, music composer Amar Haldipurkar, FWICE General Secretary Ashok Dubey, Raja Khan, Shelu Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Shivaji Khadik, son-in-law Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Jalil Anees Maujhe, FWICE Chief Advisor Ashish Shelar Renowned female sound recordists Champa Tiwari, Ghosalkar madam, Vasant ji, Khalid ji, Saurabh Manglekar, Shoaib Dongre etc. also expressed their views.  In this housing scheme, people associated with cinema are being given houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for only twelve and a half lakh rupees, that too by giving loans. The first phase of this housing scheme will be completed in one and a half years. These houses with 320 65 square feet carpet area will be earthquake resistant.
