Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are not a part of Shahid Kapoor’s friend circle and here’s why we say so

Shahid Kapoor commenced 2018 delivering a hit with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. He played the role of Maha Rawal Ratan Singh, starring alongside Deepika Padukone (Rani Padmavati) and Ranveer Singh, who played Alauddin Khilji. During the shoot of the film and post its release, there were several reports about Shahid not getting along with the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and his co-star Ranveer Singh during the shoot. Neither of them came forward to speak about the issue until now.

In the latest episode of Koffee With Karan Season 6, when Karan Johar asked Shahid about not getting along with his co-stars of Padmaavat, the outspoken actor said, “It was a big film and the stakes were very high for everybody. So, everybody wanted to have their A-game on, everybody was doing everything it takes to be in the centre of the limelight. I’m sure everybody felt a bit threatened by each other at some level, it’s natural.”

He continued, “I had a great time during the film, and of course, there are many small things which happen when it’s a multi star-cast film. I wouldn’t say that it was a smooth ride and we were all throwing love at each other. But looking back, I feel it’s an amazing film in my filmography, and I feel it’s great that I did it, it’s all good.” When asked about his camaraderie with Ranveer and Deepika (considering Shahid played her husband in the film), Shahid revealed that it didn’t exist, and it’s the same with the rest of the industry too. The actor said that he looks forward to spending time with his kids, and has not been able to bond a lot with the other celebrities.

Shahid also revealed, “My relationship status with most of the industry is zilch. Honestly, Deepika, Ranveer and Sanjay Sir never became a part of my friends’ circle as such. I think it was more a professional thing and it’s not like the status was different and it’s changed in any manner. We connected when we were working together, and now, we don’t have any connection.” We think Shahid is that one actor or celebrity who interacts the least with other Bollywood celebrities.
