Setters trailer: Aftab Shivdasani – Shreyas Talpade’s film looks entertaining

The trailer of Aftab Shivdasani and Shreyas Talpade starrer Setters came out today and it looks good but the concept of the film is nothing new. We have already seen the same setting and the plot in many movies before. The thriller talks about cheating and mafia in Varanasi and shows the North Indian landscape. Aftab Shivdasani and Shreyas Talpade’s upcoming film is about examination cheating and how it is carried out rampantly in North India. The film also talks about the mafia behind this notorious scandal and how they operate. The trailer while talking about the same also shows how a police officer (Aftab Shivdasani) is assigned to bust and stop the scam. He can be seen giving a hard time to the mafias as he swears to catch them red-handed. Honestly, too much is revealed in the trailer itself. The movie deals with two plots and we hope they don’t miss the essence while focusing on one. Also, it’s not a fresh concept as we have seen two films based on the similar plot this year itself.

Why Cheat India starring Emraan Hashmi was almost similar and you cannot ignore that. Milan Talkies, which released not too long ago, also highlighted the same angle where the lead of the film Ali Fazal was shown running a cheating racket. So the challenge of serving something fresh is high and the makers should have realized that. Anyway, Setters is directed by Ashwini Chaudhary who has also directed films like Laado, Siskiyaan, Dhoop and Good Boy.
