Sooryavanshi: Akshay Kumar – Salman Khan to have a mega box office clash during Eid 2020?

Akshay Kumar is all set to turn into a cop once again, this time for Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. The film was announced at the end of Ranveer Singh’s Simmba last year. But the first look posters have been released today. And we have to say Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi looks like an action-packed affair and we can’t wait to watch it. However, apart from the posters, one more thing that grabbed our attention is the release date. Yes, the makers of Sooryavanshi revealed that the cop drama will hit the screens on Eid 2020. While this is a huge announcement considering that Akshay has never had a Eid release, there is one question that has cropped in everyone’s minds. Are Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan going to have a mega box office clash during Eid 2020?

As we all know, Salman Khan has a Eid release every year. Over the past five years, he has had a release every single time on the last day of the festive season. The film releases are like a gift to all his fans. This year too, he is coming out with Bharat. And next year, we hear that either Dabangg 3 or his film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali might release on Eid. That would mean two huge films releasing on Eid and two massive superstars clashing. What would be the outcome of this clash? Well only time will tell. For now Salman has not announced any film, but if and when he does, we wonder what will follow? Talking about the last time such a situation had arisen, Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Salman Khan’s Sultan were set to clash on Eid 2016. However, SRK decided to postpone Raees. Sultan released and earned more than Rs 300 crore at the box office, while Raees released during Republic Day week 2017 and raked in more than Rs 120 crore at the ticket window. Will either Salman or Akshay shift this once? Or will Salman not have any Eid release in 2020 at all? Well time will tell.
