With a life of three years at FOX and two years at Netflix, television series Lucifer has been cancelled by the online streaming platform and the show will be ending with its fifth season. Even though the fans have been trying to save the series on Netflix, the makers have said that there’s no use campaigning as they have decided for the good of the show.

Producer Ildy Modrovich took to social media to confirm the news and thanked the fans for their support, asking them to stop requesting the continuation of the show. She revealed that the decision was made after serious care and consideration by the makers, Netflix and Warner Bros. She tweeted, “A message of love for our #Lucifans from me… @Henderson_Joe all the #Lucifer writers and our beautiful cast…” Check out the tweet here:

The series which follows the character Lucifer Morningstar played by Tom Ellis who works with an LAPD detective to find and destroy criminals, is based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Mike Dringenberg, and Sam Kieth for DC comics. The show received three seasons at FOX and was bought by Netflix for its last two seasons, resulting in a total of 77 episodes. We hope Lucifans get a nice closure with the show’s last season.
