Ansel Elgort and Nicole Kidman starrer The Goldfinch which is adapted from Donna Tartt’s novel is an eagerly awaited movie. Warner Bros. recently released the trailer of the film and frankly, you will not want to miss it.

What is the trailer/movie about?

It stars Ansel Elgort as Theodore Decker and Nicole Kidman as Mrs Barbour. Theo Decker was 13 years old when his mother was killed in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The tragedy changes the course of his life, sending him on a stirring odyssey of grief and guilt, reinvention and redemption, and even love. Through it all, he holds on to one tangible piece of hope from that terrible day which is a painting of a tiny bird chained to its perch. The Goldfinch. Watch the trailer below:

Yay

Each and everyone is in perfect alignment with their character. The part that touched our hearts, is that there’s always a ray of hope which shines bright at the end of a dark tunnel.

Nay

The Goldfinch is set in an elitist environment with art forgery as one of its themes, which could make the film geared towards a niche audience.

Verdict

The trailer seems promising enough with a fair amount of engaging content.

The film is directed by John Crowley and produced by Nina Jacobson. It also stars Finn Wolfhard (Boris), Sarah Paulson (Xandra) and Luke Wilson as Larry Decker.
