chhapaak vs tanhaji

We were one of the first to tell you that Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero has been postponed and will now release on January 10, 2020. However, no one had expected another big announcement coming out today, leading to a mega box office clash! Yes, Deepika Padukone and team Chhapaak also announced that they will be coming out January 10, 2020. With that, it is going to Deepika Padukone vs Ajay Devgn at the box office next year. It will surely be a mega encounter, whose outcome neither we nor you can predict.

Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero was earlier supposed to release later this year. But with the film’s heavy action sequences and VFX work, along with the actor having other work commitments, the makers thought it would be perfect to shift its release to January 10, 2020. They want to put out a well-made movie, especially with it revolving around such a strong character. For those of you who don’t know, Tanaji is about Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj’s military leader. He was the one who capture the Sinhagad fort. The action-packed movie will be a treat to watch! Also starring Kajol and Saif Ali Khan the movie is being directed by Om Raut.

Ajay Devgn’s tweet on Tanhaji – The Unsung Hero:

Deepika Padukone’s tweet on Chhapaak:

Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak, on the other hand, is a heartwarming tale. It is based on the life and struggle of a Delhi girl, Laxmi Agarwal, after her acid attack. How this single mother without a job leads her life with a smile and hope forms the rest of the story. The movie went on floors today and we can’t wait to see this Meghan Gulzar-directorial. It also stars Vikrant Massey. In the meantime, stay tuned to CineBlitz for more Bollywood news, updates and gossip!

Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria’s Student of the Year 2 was one of the most-exciting releases of the year. However, it failed to take off at the box office. The movie had a decent first week and everyone expected it to show some upward trend in its second weekend at the box office. However, SOTY 2 had a lackluster second weekend. In fact, with minimal growth, the film could just manage to rake in Rs 6.62 crore in three days.

Student of the Year 2 earned Rs 1.62 crore on day 8 (Friday), Rs 2.25 crore on day 9 (Saturday) and Rs 2.75 crore on day 10 (Sunday). With that, SOTY 2 took its collection to Rs 64.52 crore at the domestic box office. With De De Pyaar De, John Wick 3 continuing their run at the box office, we expected Student of the Year 2‘s second week to be low. Meanwhile, what did you think of the movie? Directed by Punit D Malhotra and produced by Dharma Productions, Student of the Year 2 is a sequel to the hit movie, Student of the Year (2012).
