Exclusive! While Rajkumar Hirani battles allegations of sexual misconduct, Arshad Warsi denies Munna Bhai 3 taking off

Actor Arshad Warsi clears the rumours around Munna Bhai 3 being in the making, and says
it’s too early to say anything about the project. The response came after the rumours of
Munna Bhai 3 in the pipeline possibly getting into trouble, due to director Rajkumar Hirani
being accused of abuse in the #MeToo controversy, went viral over social media.
In an exclusive conversation with Cine Blitz, Arshad said, “No confirmation about the project
was ever given by me, people jump to conclusions very easily. Yes, the script is with Raju
(Rajkumar Hirani) and he is still working on it, he will think of making it whenever it is ready.

When I last asked him about it in 2018, he said it might take till the end of 2019 to complete
it”. Considering Rajkumar Hirani’s keenness on perfection, Arshad added that Hirani takes
his own time in working on scripts, he works really hard and till he is not 200 per cent sure,
he doesn’t start the film. So it is very hard to put a date and time to it and too soon to
confirm and talk about it.

In the Munnabhai series, Arshad Warsi played the character of Circuit, Munna Bhai’s (Sanjay
Dutt) best friend, and is a pivotal character, and possibly the most endearing part of the
film. He will next be seen in Prakash Jha Productions’ Fraud Saiyaan , which is releasing on
January 18 this year. Rajkumar Hirani has recently been called out in the #MeToo movement
by a technician on his film Sanju, an accusation which is yet to be proved. This might affect
the process of the making of the next Munna Bhai film, if at all it is happening, considering
Raju Hirani is already facing the flak and fallout of his name being removed from the film Ek
Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga.
