While the #MeToo movement gave many women a feeling of self-liberation, there is another actress who has come forward and raised her voice against domestic violence. Arzoo Govitrikar, who is best remembered for her role in Baghban and is also the younger sister of Aditi Govitrikar, has reportedly filed a complaint against her husband Siddharth Sabharwal at the Worli police station. As per media reports, Arzoo was accompanied by her sister Aditi and good friend Ashish Chaudhary. Reports from a tabloid suggest that Arzoo has moved out of her Worli apartment but her five-year-old son Aashman is still with her husband. Arzoo has complained that her husband resorted to physical assault after getting drunk.

The actress also submitted CCTV footage to the cops to prove how brutally her husband assaulted her back in February when she objected to his alcohol consumption. In her complaint that she registered on February 19, Arzoo stated that she was beaten viciously and that her husband also threatened to kill her family. Arzoo, who has been married for eight years, has claimed that she has been going through mental and physical torture for several years now. On the other hand, responding to Arzoo’s complaint, Siddharth told the tabloid that it was nothing but drama.

While Arzoo has not been very vocal about discussing this personal matter with the media, a source from the police told us that the allegations are too personal and hence they also would not like to comment over the issue. As we try to get in touch with the Baghban actress, we will have to wait and watch how this matter shapes up. Till then stay tuned to CineBlitz for more interesting news and gossip from the world of Bollywood.
