Chirag Sethi will play for Team Delhi Titans in the third season of Dilip Agrawal’s Actors Cricket Bash. This four-day-long T10 cricket extravaganza that began on March 19, is being held at Air India Ground, Mumbai. “It’s an amazing feeling to participate in this tournament. Being an actor we do not get a lot of chances to play cricket so when such things happen it is obviously special. I want to thank Dilip and Actors Cricket Bash for creating such a platform where we come together once every year to play a fair game of cricket, compete with each other to take the trophy home. The ground is the best place to bond with my co-actors and colleagues,” he adds.

Cricket is considered a religion in India. “Indians are crazy about cricket. I am no different. I have been watching cricket and playing cricket since childhood. I love this sport,” he shares.

Chirag is in touch with his coach and captain regularly and going for net practices. “I believe Manav Gohil, captain of Team Delhi Titans, is really a cool and amazing person on and off the field. So I think he will take us in the right direction and under him our preparation for the tournament is going quite well,” he reveals.

Sachin Tendulkar is the actor’s favourite cricketer. “I have always admired him and don’t think I have any right to comment on a legend like him. I’m glad that after him we have a lot of cricket stars like Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and now Virat Kohli is doing well,” he says.

Talking about his expectations from ACB, Chirag adds, “I want our team to win the trophy this year, because last year we lost matches for just 1-2 runs. Our luck didn’t support us because of some reason. This year our team is stronger and wants to win every game. We have the best players from Delhi and Chennai in our team. Also, this year is going to be interesting because this time we have a new team, Bhojpuri Stars.”

Praising Dilip for his tenacity, courage and effort for holding such a huge tournament, Chirag says, “I want to tell him, ‘Paaji tussi Great ho’. He has created a platform for actors to play professional cricket and knows the best as to how one can make things work. I hope he keeps doing it and takes ACB to greater heights. Due to Covid, this season was getting cancelled or delayed, but somehow he managed everything.”

Along with ACB, Chirag is also excited for the latest season of Indian Premier League (IPL) that starts at the end of this month. “It’s a 20 over match format so the pace is different. You just watch boundaries and there’s action every moment. As such I don’t support any team specifically during the IPL. I just see where the best players are playing, I support that team. So for me it keeps on changing,” he ends.
