If you haven’t seen the film Simmba then this might be a spoiler, but at the end of the film, Rohit Shetty reveals his next. The new film starring Akshay Kumar is titled Sooryavanshi and the makers hope to release it this year. But did you know there is an interesting story associated with how Rohit Shetty got this title?
The rights to the title were with producer Vijay Galani. In 1992, he had produced a film called ‘Suryavanshi’ which starred Salman Khan, Amrita Singh and Sheeba. Now, when Rohit Shetty wished to acquire the rights to the title, the original producer refused to part with it. And that’s when Boney Kapoor stepped in to play his saviour. He spoke to Vijay Galani and asked him to accommodate Rohit and consider him a younger colleague within the same fraternity. Eventually Vijay Galani agreed to part with the title, and Rohit got the title he desired. The only change that the super successful director has done is the way it is spelt. From Suryavanshi he has changed it to Sooryavanshi. Isn’t that amazing? What’s your whole take on this incident? Share with us your thoughts in the comments section below!

Incidentally, the 1992 original was a disaster at the box office and was panned by critics too. It was a supernatural story with a reincarnation theme. Now that Rohit Shetty is making the new one, it will surely have a different fate, we guess! This is because of the fact that each of Rohit’s last eight films has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. And with Akshay Kumar, the original action star joining the cop-universe created by Rohit, fans couldn’t ask for more! Anyway, stay tuned to Cine Blitz as we get you more updates about the film right here.
