Isha Koppikar joins BJP in the run up to Lok Sabha Elections 2019; to head the Women Transport Wing

Actress Isha Koppikar may not be setting the big screen on fire like before, but she surely is ruling the big stage. After a decent acting career, Isha has decided to take a political plunge. The actress has joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the run up to the Lok Sabha Elections of 2019. From what we hear, like 2014, the BJP plans to field prominent celebrities in the elections as they add value to their team. So, before the elections, Isha has been appointed as the president of the Women Transport Wing. The actress took her pledge in front of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today (January 27).

Isha even confirmed the news, as she posted a picture from the BJP event. She even thanked the political party and mentioned how now it is time to serve the nation. The actress wrote, “Thank You For the warm welcome. Look forward to serve the nation @narendramodi @bjpindia @bjpmaharashtra @bjpmumbai @nitingadkari @devendrafadnavis @ashishshelar @hajiarfatshaikh @vinodtawde @amarsable @amitshah.” Does this mean she will leave acting and will turn into a full time politician? Well time will tell! And if she has the same dedication as she had towards acting, she will surely bring about a change!

Talking about Isha Kopikar’s filmy career, the actress made her Bollywood debut in 2000 with Fiza. Films like LOC Kargil, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, 36 China Town, Don make up her filmography. Post 2007, she hasn’t had any major release, but continues to work bit and part. After her marriage to Timmy Narang, she had taken a brief sabbatical. But post her comeback, she hasn’t bagged any major project. She has a few films lined up, but with politics taking front seat, we wonder what will happen to her acting career.
