Producer Anil Suri passed away; hospitals refused admission because of unavailability of beds

One more Bollywood personality was refused admission by two suburban hospitals passed away on Wednesday evening. Producer Anil Suri who had made films like Karmyogi and Raaj Tilak was sent back by two hospitals in Bandra and Khar due to unavailability of beds. His brother Rajiv Suri when contacted confirmed that Hinduja Hospital and Lilavati hospital refused admission. He said “They told us they don’t have beds.”
Though he did not confirm that the death happened because of Covid-19, Suri said, “He (Anil) had high fever but managed to walk from and to the car while going from hospital to hospital.”
Anil Suri was later admitted to Advance Multispeciality hospital on June 3. He passed away on Thursday at 7:30 pm. He was on the ventilator when he breathed his last. Suri had produced the film Manzil directed by Basu Chatterjee who also passed away on the same day.
It maybe recalled here that just a one day ago, lyricist of Yaarana fame too had to go from one hospital to another in Mira Road but no one admitted him. He passed away on the staircases of Kokilaben Hospital.
