The weekend is almost over and if you still think you wasted it, we have a quick solution for you. Binge-watching movies! Yes, that always works and it gets better when the film is a good one. Still confused about what to watch? Well, CineBlitz is here to your rescue. In the age of feminism and women-empowerment, why shouldn’t the films we watch also be inspired by that! So, we bring to you a list of five female lead movies that you should absolutely watch! And if you are an action thriller buff and always excited to watch thrillers with female assassins, then this list is just right for you!

# Léon: The Professional (1994) – The story of Mathilda and her search for a corrupt DEA who killed his family is a must-watch. Her camaraderie with Leon and the journey of her learning hit-man skills from Leon is full power-packed. After all, seeing a deadly female assassin is always a treat, and if it is played by Natalie Portman, then it is even more interesting.

# Kill Bill (2003) – The bride aka the protagonist and her revenge story will definitely give you goose-bumps. Starring Uma Thurman, the film is all about how her character goes about hunting down one-by-one, the people responsible for ruining her life, and then exacting vengeance in the most gruesome way possible.

# Underworld (2003) – Starring Kate Beckinsale, the story revolves around the war between the Vampires and the werewolves. Yes, you heard it right! When Selene unearths the secret behind her family getting brutally murdered, she goes on a hunt and knows no limits when it comes to eliminating her enemies. This action-packed story is worth your time this weekend.

# Salt (2010) – We saw Angelina Jolie aka Evelyn Salt in a completely different avatar in this movie, and you definitely don’t want to miss that. She played the role of a CIA Agent who is accused of being a part of a ruthless Russian spy program. Her husband is brutally murdered and the story then moves forward by showing how she goes on the lam from the CIA agents and tries her best to not get caught.

# Hanna (2019) – While a movie is a good choice, a web-series can also fit the list of your weekend plans and we have just the right web show for you. Titled Hanna, the web show is based on the 2011 movie that goes by the same name. Release on March 29, the eight-episodic drama revolves around a teenager who is raised to become an assassin by her foster-father. Sounds interesting already, right? The protagonist has to survive a fight not to get trapped by a CIA agent, and that is a story that cannot be missed.

So this is our list of five movies and web shows that we feel should be on everyone’s watch-list. If you haven’t seen these action-thrillers already, then get ready to have an amazing binge-watching weekend.
