Netizens remind Navjot Singh Sidhu of his promise to quit politics!

Blame-game and the backlash has been a part-and-parcel of being in politics and politicians facing wrath of the masses due to their statements is nothing new. The recent one to face backlash from the netizens for the comments he made last month (April) is the Congress member Navjot Singh Sidhu.

BJP member and Union Minister Smriti Irani in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 has won the Amethi seat after defeating Rahul Gandhi, who was also contesting for the same seat. Prior to elections, Navjot Singh Sidhu made a few statements about the opposition party and in his excitement vowed that he would quit politics if Irani wins Rahul Gandhi’s Amethi seat. Well history is made and now Smriti Irani has won the Amethi seat from Rahul.

Following Rahul Gandhi’s defeat, Netizens took the onus and reminded Sidhu of his statement of quitting politics if Irani wins. Now a new hashtag #SidhuQuitPolitics is trending and it is all over the internet. We wonder what the yesteryear cricketer has to say about this. Rahul Gandhi was in power in Amethi since 2004 and this defeat comes as a huge shock.
