Vivek Anand Oberoi’s PM Narendra Modi biopic has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced. However, it was the release date that had raised most eyebrows! For those of you who don’t know, PM Narendra Modi was set to release on April 5, which is just a week before the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. This had irked a lot of people. In fact, political parties had appealed to the Election Commission (EC) to ban the film. However, after getting a clean chit, PM Narendra Modi went in for certification at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The makers were hopeful that the movie would hit the screens on April 5. But looks like it has been postponed to April 12. And the reason for the delay is the CBFC!

Yes, according to our sources and reports, we hear that PM Narendra Modi has not yet got a certificate from the CBFC. In fact, the Censor Board members have just seen the movie and are still mulling over its certification. After getting the certification of the Hindi version, the makers will still have to wait for the certification of the Tamil and Telugu versions. And hence, they have decided to postpone PM Narendra Modi to April 12. This will allow them to get ample time for certification of the movie as well as a proper, planned release. We did try to get in touch with the movie’s representative, but he could not give us a confirmation or a denial.

From what we hear, the PM Narendra Modi biopic will have a considerable release across India. With the postponement, it has avoided a clash with John Abraham’s RAW – Romeo Akbar Walter. However, it will clash with The Tashkent Files and a few others next week. Though the release plan changed last moment, the makers would be happy that they avoided a bigger clash with John.
