Sonchiriya’s dacoit-based theme has caught everyone’s attention, as Abhishek Chaubey brings back the daakus in Bollywood. The film is inspired by true events. It is based on a real life story of dacoits in the 70s who were seeking revenge. The director has stayed true with his realistic approach to the film. Right from the shooting locations to working on the accents of his ensemble cast of actors, several of whom play daakus in the film, Abhishek has worked hard to keep things real. And now, it has been revealed that the reel daakus are even meeting the real daakus.

Yes, actors Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar and Ranvir Shorey, along with Abhishek will be meeting four to five real life dacoits. The entire team has already left for Kanpur today. Interestingly, buzz is that the demand came from the real reformed dacoits, who were quite amazed to learn about this film. They were curious to meet the makers and the cast. Sources say that they are happy about their side of the story being portrayed so authentically They have seen the trailers and clearly connected with it. That is why they sent out feelers to the makers and the meeting was arranged with the cast and crew in Kanpur.

Sonchiriya is set in Chambal’s 1975 era and has been extensively shot in the ravines near Dholpur in Rajasthan. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ashutosh Rana and Ranvir Shorey among others, the film releases on March 1. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP, Sonchiriya has been directed by Abhishek Chaubey.
