Yatin Karyekar to play Aurangzeb in Shivpratap Garudzep produced by actor-politician Dr. Amol Kolhe

‘Escape from Agra’ is a very important and exciting event in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life, it was the most important period among the many dramatic events in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life. Maharaj accomplished the seemingly impossible feat of going far from Maharashtra to the north and that too to the territory under Aurangzeb’s rule and returning safely. Actor-turned-politician Dr. Amol Ram Singh Kolhe will bring this thrilling history of the Agra Campaign to the Marathi silver screen on 5th October. Produced by Dr. Amol Ram Singh Kolhe, the film ‘Shivpratap Garudzep’ is directed by Karthik Rajaram Kendhe.

Among the Mughal emperors, Aurangzeb became the only ruler who expanded the Mughal empire with his ingenious strategy. The cruelest impostor in history, known as a tyrannical, fanatical emperor the role of Aurangzeb in the movie ‘ Shivpratap Garudzep ‘ will be played by senior actor Yatin Karyekar.

According to Karyekar, there have been many actors in Marathi cinema who have played good villain roles. Fans have loved these villains too. I have played the role of Aurangzeb in the serial before. But now it is a different joy to play it on the big screen. Equally comparable to the character of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, playing Aurangzeb was important.  I have tried to effectively show the rawness of the character through my role, I hope it will be liked by the audience. Shivpratap Garudzep is slated for release on 5th October.
