Sonam Kapoor – Rajkummar Rao – Anil Kapoor – Juhi Chawla’s Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga hit the screens on February 01. Though the film has won a lot of hearts, it hasn’t been able to set the box office on fire. It raked in a mere Rs 3.30 crore on day 1. Considering it had 1500 screens and majority of the film’s audience was working, it was a decent collection. But it was expected to see a growth on Saturday (day 2). Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga did witness a spike and collected Rs 4.65 crore on day 2, but according to us, it could have performed much better. The two day collections of the movie now stands at Rs 7.95 crore!

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is clearly struggling at the box office. Older releases like Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Uri: The Surgical Strike are outperforming it. Maybe Indian society isn’t open to accept and watch such subjects. And that is really sad! Movies about same sex relationships and marriages should be accepted. Only then will we be able to accept and change. We just hope that more people go watch the film on day 3 (Sunday) and it sees a bigger growth, which is really necessary for it to survive at the domestic box office.

Looking at the current trends, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga can rake in Rs 12 – 14 crore over the first weekend. Directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, the movie has got some rave reviews. Critics as well as the public are gushing about the movie. Have you watched it? If yes, share your thoughts about it in the comments section below.
