Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi, who was last seen in the film 3 Storeys, is all set to return to the big screen with Aneesh Daniel’s directorial venture The Least Of These: The Graham Staines Story. The film released in the US on February 1 and surprisingly went on to earn a whopping amount of $607,015 at the box office. In India, the film was supposed to release today, March 1. However, the film hasn’t arrived in theatres and the release date has now been pushed to March 29. Considering that Sharman’s film would have to face competition from Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s Luka Chuppi, we guess the makers chose to play it safe.

Apart from Luka Chuppi, Sushant Sing Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar’s Sonchiriya has also hit the screens today. With two films already clashing at the box office, it’s good that The Least Of These: The Graham Staines Story didn’t release today. Or else the film would have surely suffered at the ticket windows. Co-starring Stephen Baldwin, Shari Rigby, and Prakash Belawad,  the Sharman starrer is produced by Skypass Entertainment and will be distributed by PVR Cinemas.

The film showcases the real-life story of Australian Christian missionary Graham Staines, who worked for the poor tribals and leprosy victims in Odisha. The film is coming 20 years after Staines was burnt to death along with his sons by members of the Hindu fundamentalist organisation Bajrang Dal. Anyway, Sharman took to Instagram and shared the film’s poster with the new release date. Check out the post here:

While the film’s trailer looks promising, the figures that the film has drawn in the US has further raised our expectations. But we will have to wait and watch to what extent the film impresses the audience in India? For more such updates and news from the world of Bollywood, stay tuned to Cine Blitz.
