Hasti Doshi2019 began with some political films like Thackeray which starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Not to forget The Accidental Prime Minister which told the story of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. Now, to add to the list, another Political drama has been announced, and the film is titled My Name is RaGa, portraying the story of Congressman Rahul Gandhi. A teaser of the film was released, giving a glimpse of the film, and the teaser received maximum negative feedback. The maker of the film is probably still reeling from the feedback, and another setback has hit the film even before they start the shooting in earnest.
The trailer showed a young kid playing the character of Rahul Gandhi in the swimming pool, and then pans out to a grown up Rahul Gandhi, portrayed by unknown actor Aswini Kumar. But as per our sources, the latest update is that Aswini Kumar has backed out of the film and will not be play the role of the controversial politician. Just as the work on the film starts and the promo is put out in the public domain, the actor playing the titular character leaves the film. The exact reasons for his exit are as yet unclear, but speculation is that it might because of the negative responses to the initial teaser trailer.
As per our sources, the makers of the film have found another actor to play the role of Rahul Gandhi. The actor’s name is Dheeraj and apparently, his looks are closer in resemblance to the politician. The film is produced and directed by Rupesh Paul. This hurdle-ridden film already has seen its cast falling apart, and the way things are proceeding, it looks like they need to prepare themselves for a spurt of battles along the way.
