Henna BrarBollywood actress Urmila Matondkar surprised the nation and grabbed headlines when she announced her decision of joining the Congress Party earlier. Urmila added that she will be contesting the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 from Mumbai North. Joining the party just ahead of the polls, she is fighting with local heavyweight Gopal Shetty from Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). The actress who shifted into politics recently has surprisingly fit right in with the campaigning and is comfortable in the midst of it all
Today, Urmila was one of the first people to cast her vote as she was spotted at the polling booth early morning. She later spoke to the media and urged her fans and citizens of the country to come out and vote in large numbers and encouraged them to utilise their democratic right. Urmila spoke to CineBlitz exclusively earlier on and we asked her the issues on her list? She said, “Top three would be, water, because there are a lot of places that don’t have water at all. There is no electricity and also housing issues. These are going to be slightly time-consuming things which need to change quickly. Decisions need to be taken on women’s healthcare, train-issues, ladies locals because too much population and too less, too weak an infrastructure is the situation of this area.”
